Arts & Culture

Whether you have a passion for arts and culture, are an occasional theater goer, or your artistic preferences are decidedly fancy or funky, you’ll find something to suit your artistic bent in Tempe.

Theatre buffs will find something for every preference from May through August.  ASU Gammage brings Broadway Blockbusters to Tempe year-round. Summer shows include PHANTOM OF THE OPERA  May 27-June 7 and WICKED, August 26-October 4. Through May 24, take the family  to see Childsplay’s The Three Javalina’s, a fun Southwestern version of The Three Little Pigs.  If you prefer edgy, alternative theatre, catch Stray Cat Theatre’s production of The Tomkat Project through May 9.

Slip into the cool interiors of  the ASU Art Museum to see fine contemporary art by internationally recognized artists. Named “the single most impressive venue for contemporary art in Arizona” by Art in America magazine, the ASU Art Museum is known for programming that’s timely and relevant to life today.
