Mill Avenue District
The Mill Avenue District is one of the most visited and exciting downtown areas in Arizona. Bounded by College Avenue to the east, Ash Avenue to the west, University Drive to the south and Rio Salado Parkway to the north, the downtown area is a dynamic, vibrant locale that features entertainment, restaurants, shopping and arts and sporting events. The exceptional accessible features allow you to experience brick sidewalks, open-air cafes, and an incredible number of local and national special events year-round.

A minimum clearance of six feet is maintained on Mill Avenue District sidewalks, and accessible curb ramps exist at all intersections. Each of the major intersections is signalized. In nearly all cases, access to businesses and stores is from street level, with no stairs or steps up or down to Mill Avenue and downtown establishments. In addition, the transit system is ADA compliant. Every bus serving the entire City of Tempe is equipped with ramps which are functional on all routes and at all transit facilities.

Audible Pedestrian Signal Installations
Based on input from mobility instructors, many high use pedestrian crossings are equipped with Audible Pedestrian Signals to facilitate access for users with visual impairments.
