Welcome to the City of Tempe

On behalf of the City of Tempe, welcome to our community! It is my privilege to introduce the 2009 Access Tempe brochure, a Disability Resource Guide, which has been a labor of heartfelt advocacy by our ADA Office with assistance from staff across the City of Tempe. The Access Tempe brochure is one facet of our mission to further promote business and citizen awareness of, involvement in, and support for our neighbors, visitors and family members with disabilities.

Tempe long has been a cooperative and inclusive place, in which differences are respected, and a wide range of talents, skill and abilities are encouraged. Our home is a place where we can always do better, but where most of us understand that in our differences, as well as our similarities, there is strength and power.

Our hope is that this guidebook will get better every year. Our goal is to set the standard across the nation, as we give you and our entire community the highest level of service and seamless accessibility.
