Super Bowl Sunday is just around the corner. It’s down to the final two teams, Denver and Carolina. Both will be playing for the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday, February 7th. Tempe has no shortage of great places to watch the game. They have a great atmosphere, greater food, even greater beer selections and of course – and perhaps most importantly, lots of TVs to catch all the action. Below are some Downtown Tempe bars we recommend for watching the Super Bowl. Don’t see a restaurant you like on the list? Mention it in the comments section.

Zipps Sports Grill
690 S. Mill Ave.
Tempe, AZ 85281
(480) 404-7255

Whenever you talk about a bar to watch sports, the first place you have to mention is Zipps. I think it’s a rule, right? Zipps Sports Grill in Downtown Tempe has everything you’re looking for. Great food, good outdoor patio and tons of TVs – both inside and outdoors – to not miss a play. And the food is good too. We recommend the wings – golden style and extra crispy with a little blue cheese.

The Handlebar Tempe
680 S. Mill Ave.
Tempe, AZ 85281
(480) 474-4888

I love this place. It’s local and it has a great atmosphere – two things that are important to me. They have TVs all over the place, so seeing the game won’t be an issue.  I’ll indulge myself with some festive football food as well, most notably their pretzels with beer cheese along with an order of sweet potato fries, which are the best I’ve had. I’ll be washing both of these down with a beer, which is easy to do because Handlebar has 24 different beers on tap. If Nick is working, he’s the best at helping you pick a beer if you’re in the mood to try something new.

Pedal Haus Brewery
730 S. Mill Ave. #102
Tempe, AZ 85281
(480) 314-2337

This European style brewery in Downtown Tempe has it all. Great food, incredible beer selection (seriously, it’s pretty great) and arguably, one of the best outdoor patios in the city. They have three bars (two inside, one outside on the patio). All of which are beautiful new TVs surrounding them. The inside is very industrial looking, with old brick walls and steel brew tanks all on display. I recommend the Organic Chicken Pot Pie. It’s amazing. The bratwurst bites are really good too.

Buffalo Wild Wings
705 S. Rural Road #104
Tempe, AZ 85281
(480) 858-9464

By far, one of the best sports bars in Tempe and quite possible, The Valley. What better way to end a day filled with football than with some of the best wings around? They boast of having 30+ flat screen TVs. That means no matter which way you turn your head, you’re staring at a TV. We all know the wings are great here. So you can’t go wrong if that’s your go-to meal for the evening.  I’m a huge pulled pork fan, so the Big Jack Daddy Burger is the perfect marriage.  They pile hickory-smoked pulled pork and their signature honey BBQ sauce on an already mouth-watering burger. Need I say more?
