Thanksgiving is just days away. That means in just a few days, we’ll be gathered around with friends and family, watching football, cooking the largest turkey we could find, baking pies and cakes, prepping the stuffing and the green bean casserole (my favorite and a Thanksgiving must if I’m invited to your home). Once the prepping, cooking/baking and in some cases, when the tears are wiped away, you can eat, laugh, yell, scream and chat around the table. Then the cleaning begins. And it never ends.

If this doesn’t sound appealing to you – and that’s okay if it doesn’t – you still deserve to have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. You deserve the works too. We’re talking about turkey, ham, prime rib, mountains of potatoes and all the pies you can dream of. Best of all, you can let someone else do all the cooking and cleaning up for you. Dinner-to-go serves 12- 15 people and includes 18- to 20- pound whole roast turkey, homemade stuffing, cranberry relish, mashed potatoes, green beans, candied yams, dinner rolls, one pumpkin pie and one apple pie ($219.99). Order at least 72 hours in advance. If you want to go out for dinner on Thanksgiving, all Chompie’s locations also will be open for Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.: sliced roast turkey breast, homemade stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, candied yams, green beans, dinner roll, cranberry relish and a slice of apple or pumpkin pie ($19.99). Green New American Vegetarian is offering its ThanksLiving celebration again this year! Stop by anytime from noon- 4 p.m. and enjoy a menu that includes Seitan wheat meat turkey, vegan gravy, organic cranberry stuffing with toasted walnuts, roast-garlic smashed potatoes, sweet corn, brown “butter” asparagus, fried brussels sprouts, salad, cranberry sauce, local artisan breads, vegan pecan and pumpkin pies with homemade whipped cream, winterberry organic oat-granola cobbler. The price is $24.95 in advance, or $28.95 on Thanksgiving day; and $8.95 for age 12 or younger. Thanksgiving day activities will include music and kids crafts.
