Tempe Restaurants Worth Swiping Right For

At some point, chances are you or someone you know has “swiped right” on someone. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Dating apps like Tinder, Bumble and Hinge are all the rage. Most of us probably have at least one friend – or maybe you’re using one or more of these right now – whose gone on a date with someone they’ve met using one of these apps. When it comes to where to go or what to do, the cliché seems to be to grab a drink. That’s great, but let’s think outside the box a little and make a good first impression when you move past the messages and texts and meet up for the first time.

Postino Annex
615 S. College. Ave., Tempe, AZ 85281
(480) 927-1111
Arugably one of most popular restaurants in Tempe, Postino Annex is a great go-to for that first date. They’re open fairly late, and they have a great weekend brunch. Plus you can get a bottle of wine + bruschetta board for only $20 (Monday & Tuesday after 8 p.m.)

Cartel Coffee Lab
225 W. University Dr. #101, Tempe, AZ 85281
(480) 225-3899
If you’re interested in grabbing a cup of coffee, you can’t go wrong with one of the most popular coffee shops in all of Metro Phoenix. Cartel has a great selection of coffees and teas to choose from. Order a drink, sit on the couch and let those sparks fly. The relaxed environment is perfect to calm you down if you get first date jitters.

Salut Kitchen Bar
1435 E. University Dr., Tempe, AZ 85281
(480) 625-3600
Ok, so if you’re interested in grabbing a drink – make plans to head out to cool a wine bar. Salut Kitchen Bar’s drink menu is top notch. Their wine selection is handpicked by their sommelier. They also have 50+ whiskeys, craft beers and a pretty amazing cocktail menu. Don’t worry if you get hungry because they have a wonderful food menu with tapas, salads, sandwiches and entrees.

Pedal Haus Brewery
730 S. Mill Ave. #H102, Tempe, AZ 85281
(480) 314-2337
The award-winning brewery has become a staple of nights out in Downtown Tempe. Pedal Haus has won awards at the North American Beer Awards and the Los Angeles International Beer Competition. Needless to say, we’d recommend the beer here. They also have a great food menu too. But don’t just sit there and talk the whole time, head out to the patio and play a game of bags/cornhole or shuffleboard.

Morning Squeeze
690 S. Mill Ave., Tempe, AZ 85281
(480) 264-4688
Pretty much everyone loves breakfast. And it seems to be an Arizona tradition to go out to breakfast as much as you can. Dinner, drinks and coffee are great but sometimes you want to try something new. Suggest meeting for breakfast at Downtown Tempe’s newest breakfast spot. Their breakfast is incredibly good with a lot of options for both food and drinks – including mimosas.
