Tempe events include Sneha and Suchita Srinivasan Arangetram at Tempe Center for the Arts at 4 p.m. on August 11, 2018.

An Arangetram is a culmination of multiple years of learning the Indian classical dance form – Bharatanatyam, which has its origins in the vibrant culture of Southern India. Sneha and Suchita Srinivasan have studied Bharatanatyam for 11 years and will showcase the breadth of their learning in their dance graduation event at the Tempe Center for the Arts.

Bharatanatyam is a classical dance form that typically depicts religious or spiritual themes.  It is one of the most well-known and widely respected dance forms in India. Mastering the art requires immense skill in perfecting each component of the intricate art form: Bhava (feeling), Raga (melody), and Thala (rhythm). This mastery ultimately results in an Arangetram, a multi-pieced performance that showcases the dancer’s talent and progress. Sneha and Suchita Srinivasan will perform the repertoire with grace and beauty, a result of hard work and dedication. Sneha and Suchita Srinivasan are disciples of Smt. Shyla Ganesan, Nrityalaya Aesthetics Society, Arizona.

Admission to Sneha and Suchita Srinivasan Arangetram is free.
