Where to get easy cocktails and cocktail kits to-go in Tempe, Arizona.
We’re sure you’ve ordered a lot of takeout over the past few months to help support our local Tempe restaurants. That means you’re awesome! But, how do you make a takeout meal just a bit more interesting? Pair it with a cocktail to-go. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Arizona restaurants are allowed to sell alcoholic drinks or cocktail kits to accompany to-go food orders. This won’t last forever, but it is providing an opportunity for a little more revenue for our friends in the restaurant industry.
Below are some of our favorite places to get cocktails to bring home. Check with each restaurant for specific details, but in general, cocktails can only be ordered when accompanied by food and a valid ID must be shown when you pick up your order.
Visit our blog post to find even more Tempe restaurants with delivery and curbside pick-up. If you’re more of a beer fan than a cocktail lover, don’t forget that breweries like Four Peaks Brewing Company, Pedal Haus Brewery and The Shop Beer Co. are offering beer and growlers to go. Check with websites and social media for more information.
Barrio Queen at Tempe Marketplace
31 S. McClintock Dr., Tempe, AZ 85281 | (480) 912-4052
Tempe Marketplace is hot spot in Tempe that we enjoy not only for the shopping and incredible art and murals, but their food selection is off the charts! Barrio Queen is no exception. They have a beautiful restaurant with charming décor and a great outdoor patio. I’ve got to say, nothing pairs better with their guacamole than their Casa Margarita (House Margarita)! And what pairs best with that? Enjoying both from the comfort of your home.
Pair up their regional authentic Mexican cuisine, featuring iconic family recipes, with their margarita cocktail kits at home. The very large, heavy box comes with 750mL of Maestro Dobel Silver Tequila (YUM), 750mL of Tres Agaves Organic Agave Nectar, 1/2 gallon of lime juice, 3 limes, a container of salt (to salt that rim) and of course the recipe card to build your cocktail. It literally only took me two minutes to make my cocktail and honestly, I could make it faster now, now that I know what to expect. I think I’m going to be the new bartender at our next Taco Tuesday because I’ve got THE best cocktail kit ready to go!
Barrio Queen Margarita Kits start at $45. The Casa Margarita Kit makes 17 margaritas so invite your friends or family over for the best fiesta. The Tempe Marketplace location is also open for dine-in service.

This south Tempe, cocktail forward restaurant is helping us get through the summer with their take-out offerings each Friday and Saturday evening. Their food and cocktail menus change each week. Check their Instagram page for details. Chef Tamara Stanger offers up everything from banana leaf-wrapped chicken and rice served with tortillas, hearty dinner pies and homemade desserts from chocolate peanut butter cheesecake to homemade ice cream in flavor combos that you never knew you needed in your life until now.
Pair their inventive cuisine with your choice of refreshing cocktails. We tried the East Side, a mix of gin, lime, mint and cucumber. Served over ice in a copper mug, it was a perfect end to a warm Friday evening. And, it paired perfectly with their chicken tacos. Next on our list of cocktails to try will be the pineapple lover’s dream with a touch of mezcal, Nita’s Hideaway.
Their cocktails each week range from $5.50 to $24 for either 2 or 4 servings.

This locally owned brewpub brings together European-style crafted beers and cocktails. Starting now, you can enjoy any Pedal Haus drink from your own house! For ready to-go drinks, choose between the Watermelon Margarita ($14) or the Haus Margarita ($12). Each margarita comes with two servings, so they really pack a punch! We recommend trying the Watermelon Margarita as it is made with 100% blue webber agave tequila, Haus made sweet & sour, orange liqueur and fresh watermelon juice. This is the perfect summer treat to sip poolside! We also had to grab a Moscow Mule to-go. The bartender did his magic behind the bar and mixed up the Tito’s Vodka, fresh lime and ginger beer and sealed the to-go cup with tape, so it can make it safe and sound to its destination (also imperative for open container laws). For those that may have already guessed it, you can also order your favorite craft brews to-go, too! Pedal Haus has 64 oz growlers and 16 oz cans of your favorites.
Pair your cocktail or crafted beer with their take-out menu and enjoy 25% off if you order online. If you wish to dine-in, there are specials for you as well! Dine-in at the Tempe location and receive $2 off select Haus beers, well drinks, margaritas and all starters and $6 select wine by the glass Mon-Sat from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. If you want big savings, we recommend going to Pedal Haus on Sunday, as there are specials for just about everything, all day long.
