Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And there’s nothing I love more than a big breakfast. Eggs are usually my breakfast food of choice, but eating just plain eggs are a little boring sometimes. I love all the “stuff” that comes with it. That’s why I love omelets. I get the best of both worlds – eggs and the “stuff”. You can get an omelet almost anyplace that serves breakfast. Find your perfect omelet right here in one of these Tempe restaurants. Daily Jam
310 S. Mill Ave., Tempe, AZ 85281 / (480) 968-9288
When talking about a breakfast in Tempe, you almost have to start with Daily Jam. The place is amazing. They also have two of my favorite omelets. The Veg is awesomely delicious with mushrooms, peppers, onions, tomatoes with Jack AND cheddar cheeses. Okay, any omelet that has two kinds of cheeses is a winner. Looking for a little protein in your omelet? Get the Loaded omelet. It has ham, pork sausage, bacon, green pepper, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, zucchini and cheese. In other words, this omelet practically has its own area code.
Snooze
615 S. College Ave. #103, Tempe, AZ 85281 / (480) 355-1934
The cheery surroundings both inside and outside combined with from-scratch menu items such as a choose-your-own flight of fluffy pancakes or house-made breakfast pot pie smothered in rosemary sausage gravy will get your day off to a very happy start. My fave omelet here is the 3 Egg Omelet or Scramble – farm fresh eggs with a choice of three fillings served with hash browns and choice of toast or tortillas. And the other unique breakfast options (like the pineapple upside down pancakes) and amazing coffee only make it better.
Over Easy Tempe
149 S. Farmer Ave., Tempe, AZ 85281 / (480) 494-5423
The most recent breakfast restaurant to open in Tempe, Over Easy is a place you won’t want to miss! The menu is exclusively all breakfast, all the time. I had ‘breakfast for lunch’ there the other day, and can’t to go back. I had the Mile High omelet with ham and bell pepper with diced onions and cheddar cheese with a side of sweet potato tater tots. Sounds like a lot of food, right? It was. And I enjoyed every bite of it. I plan on trying The Mediterranean next – spinach with tomato, garlic & Feta cheese – how can you go wrong?
U.S. Egg
131 E Baseline Rd, Tempe, AZ 85283 / (480) 831-0070
U.S. Egg has been one of my favorite breakfast spots for years, and I loving going back again and again. I absolutely love their omelets here (and love their pancakes too if I’m in the mood for something sweet!) The Going South Omelet is stuffed with chicken, avocado, diced bacon, tomatoes and Monterey jack cheese. Another fave is the Arizona Frittata, an open faced omelet with spinach, mushrooms, onion, tomatoes, peppers, jack & cheddar cheese, sour cream and salsa on the side. All their omelets are served with Idaho hash browns and English muffin, so you’ll never leave hungry here, I promise.
