Holiday Menus and Craft Cocktails in Tempe

With the holiday season upon us, now’s the perfect time to seek out special holiday menus and craft cocktails to get in the festive mood! Here are just a few of the Tempe restaurants offering special holiday menus and/or holiday drinks we think you’ll love.

Culinary Dropout at The Yard Tempe

This Christmas Eve, join any Culinary Dropout location for their ugly sweater party from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Show up in your ugly sweater and sip on some Night Before X-Mas Punch which includes cranberry, orange, Wild Turkey bourbon and holiday spice on special for $8.
Culinary Dropout has an incredible beer and wine menu that’s highlighted by some great brews that are made locally. While you’re there enjoying your holiday drink, sit, relax and enjoy some yummy food and a game of corn-hole. Culinary Dropout is open on Christmas Eve until 8 p.m. and is closed on Christmas Day.

Rustler’s Rooste

Rustler’s Rooste, one of the valley’s best restaurants for food and views, has a special holiday menu offering traditional favorites, just like mom used to make. They’ll be open Christmas Day from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. with country music from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Menu items include a traditional turkey dinner or baked ham dinner. Both are priced at $19.95 for adults and $8.95 for kids 10 and under. In the mood for a Prime Rib dinner? You can get prime rib (starting at 8 oz. up to 24 oz. with varying prices for each) served with candied yams and corn on the cob, starting at just $20.95. After dinner, save room for dessert! Enjoy a slice of apple or pumpkin pie. Or because it’s the holidays, a slice of both. They’ll also have ice cream available as well.

Gertrude’s

Located inside the beautiful Desert Botanical Garden, Gerturde’s offers quality seasonal menus and libations that showcase local ingredients from artisans and farmers. Enjoy the lush garden ambience while savoring a yummy fall dish. The seasonal menu includes Flat Iron Steak, Korean Fried Chicken Thighs and Fried Tofu. Diners can also enjoy some pretty great brunch specials like the Gertie Benedict with includes sope, chorizo, fingerling potatoes and green chili hollandaise. Or go for the Gertie Burger, which has white cheddar, onions, tomato jam on a brioche bun and black pepper chips. For dessert, we recommend the donuts. They are ricotta donut holes with smoked fudge, salted caramel and prickly pear jelly.

If you don’t feel like cooking for Christmas this year, don’t worry. Top of the Rock is here for you. Join Top of the Rock on Monday, December 25 for a delectable buffet with holiday flares and flavors. Diners will enjoy these menu highlights: roasted turkey, baked ham, prime rib, salmon, short ribs, roasted chicken, cured meat and artisan cheese display, omelet station with chef attendant, assortment of salad selections, assortment of sides, and an assortment of desserts. The Christmas Holiday Buffet will be available from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. The cost is $69.95 per person, kids 7-12 $39.95 and kids 5 and under eat free. Thirsty Lion Gastro Pub & Grill
