Tempe is located in the heart of the metropolitan Phoenix area, just minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Tempe is also easily accessible via four major freeways.

Tempe is home to Arizona State University (ASU), one of the largest universities in the United States. It is known for sunny skies and its eclectic college town vibe.

During the day, you can shop for bargains at the state’s largest value-oriented mall, Arizona Mills. The newest addition to Tempe’s shopping and entertainment scene is Tempe Marketplace, featuring 1.3 million square feet of shops, restaurants and movie screens. Or, adventure to Arizona’s only IKEA. Go hiking up “A” Mountain or in Papago Park, rent a bike and explore the miles of biking trails throughout the city, or rent a stand-up paddleboard at Tempe Town Lake.

After dark, Tempe truly dances to the beat of its own drummer. Visitors can bar hop in the ever popular Downtown Tempe have a relaxing dinner overlooking the city lights below, or sing along with your favorite band at a concert under the stars. Try one of the many microbreweries in Tempe, from Four Peaks Brewing Company to Blasted Barley. Or, see a Broadway show at the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed ASU Gammage.

Feel the energy at one of Tempe’s special events: Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon & ½ Marathon, Ironman Arizona or the Tempe Festival of the Arts.
