Details:

Tempe newspaper photographer Jan Young spent the 1970s taking photographs for the Tempe Daily News. In 2001 she donated 7500 of her negatives to the permanent collection of the Tempe History Museum. These images are the basis for the exhibit Jan Young: Photographing Tempe in the 1970s at Tempe History Museum. Because she was photographing the daily events of Tempe for the local newspaper, her images capture the look, feel, and values of the community during that decade.

Visitors to the exhibit will see many examples of Jan Young’s photographs from the 1970s, as well as displayed artifacts from her life and work.
