Historian Dr. Summer Cherland will share her research on the geographic and historic boundaries of South Phoenix, explaining how political and social histories continue to shape its present-day perceptions. This free talk, presented at the Tempe History Museum, will also highlight the contributions of student-researchers from the South Phoenix Oral History Project.

Discover the history of the Hayden House, the oldest continuously occupied building in Maricopa County, with a self-guided tour of this beautifully restored adobe treasure. While you’re there, enjoy a live musical journey of old-time music from the Black River Barn Band playing in the courtyard.
