Places to watch an ASU or Arizona football game in Tempe

While the Sun Devils are away, we’ll watch them play!

Football season is upon us. When we can’t cheer for our favorite team inside Sun Devil Stadium, the next best thing is to gather with your fellow maroon and gold wearing fans at a local sports bar. Being a college town, Tempe just happens to have lots of places to choose from. Visit their websites and social media for updates about any specific happenings on upcoming game days.

Check out the ASU Football schedule to find the away games that you’ve got to watch from the comforts of your favorite Tempe restaurant or bar, and find ticket information for all the home games too.

Zipps Sports Grill

690 S. Mill Ave., Tempe, AZ 85281
(480) 404-7255

1860 E. Warner Rd., Tempe, AZ 85284
(480) 782-8877

With daily happy hour specials and delicious wings on deck, we absolutely recommend Zipps for watching the games. Located on Mill Avenue near the ASU Tempe Campus, and another location in south Tempe, you’ll be able to support your favorite sports teams with lots of local fans. Like any sports bar during an Arizona fall/winter, it gets busy so get your order in early and focus on the game because you don’t want to miss a thing. Must-try: get your wings Golden. Zipps is known for their Golden wings with a touch of sweetness and your choice of spice level.

Devil’s Advocate

955 E. University Dr., Tempe, AZ 85281
(480) 921-2585

This Sun Devil themed sports bar is the only location in the valley. They feature a DJ on the weekends and offer great food and drink specials for happy hour. Cheer on your team with fellow fans that love the sport almost as much as they love the team.

With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, you’re sure to have great sight lines to the TV of your choice. Enjoy corn-hole and giant Jenga in between commercials and timeouts while you hangout in their beer garden. Enjoy a pint of their popular Halfway to Heffen on their spacious patio or grab a seat at the expansive bar.

The perfect pre-game and post-game hang out. Your adrenaline will be pumping from the game that you’ll want to be burn off that energy before you hit the hay… whenever that is. CASA is well-known for their block parties on home game days, but it’s also an awesome spot to watch an away game. They have a huge patio, including upstairs views of downtown and they specialize in bucket drinks. Don’t miss the HUGE burritos (get the Mac + Cheese Burrito if calories are no object).

(480) 257-2797

Dozens of flat screen televisions, a huge patio on Mill Avenue and lots of Mexican food and cocktails…what more could you ask for in a bar? They have happy hour from 3-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Thursdays, pro football fans are rewarded with specials on Bud Lights and Fireball shots.

Four Peaks Brewing Company

1340 E. 8th St., Tempe, AZ 85281
(480) 303-9967

Four Peaks is a local legend, for their beer, their food and their location in a historic creamery building that dates back to the late 1800s. And, when a big game is televised, it turns into a gathering spot for fans. Try anything made with beer bread and order a Kilt Lifter, the #1 selling beer in Arizona.

Pedal Haus Brewery

730 S. Mill Ave. #102, Tempe, AZ 85281
(480) 314-2337

Largest patio in Downtown Tempe. Award winning craft beers. And, televisions at every turn – that’s Pedal Haus. This supersized restaurant and craft brewery can hold you and all of your friends on game day. They recently expanded their food menu and in addition to favorites like buttermilk fried chicken and cheddar corn fritters, they are now serving lots of gluten free and vegan options. It’s hard to choose our favorite beer here, but we’ll go with the Belgian Tripel.

Located within steps of the iconic ‘A’ Mountain and Sun Devil Stadium, College Bar & Grill lives and breathes ASU athletics. Enjoy great food, craft beer, creative cocktails and a competitive atmosphere at this fan favorite. Spectators of the opposing team beware, this is true Devil nation. Wearing colors other than maroon & gold may result in extreme heckling.

Cheers!
