Top Tempe Breakfast Spots

It’s a guaranteed great day when you start your morning at one of Tempe, Arizona’s top breakfast spots.

My list started with just five, but Tempe has added a few out-of-this-world breakfast spots that just HAD to be added – so here’s my improved list. Trust me – you won’t be disappointed trying any of these delicious breakfast restaurants!

Daily Jam Red Velvet Waffles

This counter service spot, located in Downtown Tempe off of Mill Ave. and 3rd St., offers a fun casual atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating and, of course, has great food. My favorite, so far, are the egg sandwiches. I also always LOVE to devour their Red Velvet Waffles. MUST-TRY DISH: Red Velvet Waffles

2. Daily Dose | 96 S. Rockford Dr., Tempe, AZ 85281
Daily Dose is a family-owned restaurant located just east of Tempe Marketplace. Inside the bright, cheery interior, you’ll find classic breakfast dishes and a few that might surprise you, such as the Crispy Polenta and the Hangover Sandwich or the Peanut Butter and Jelly Waffle.

Crepe Bar in Tempe, Arizona
Crêpe Bar

3. Crêpe Bar | 7520 S. Rural Rd., Tempe, AZ 85283
This charming crêpe bar started as an innovative food truck that found success, quickly catching the eye of many since 2012. I get excited every time I head there for a taste of their seasonally fresh menu. I’m always inspired by owner Jeff Kraus’ tattoo of a Nutella jar on his arm when I can’t quite decide what I want. I usually snag both sweet and savory crêpes to share with a friend.
MUST-TRY DISH: Chilaquiles + Second Time Banana Crepe (I told you, I can never pick just one)

4. First Watch | 111 W. University Dr., Tempe, AZ 85281
First of all, the coffee here is amazing. Now that we have that covered, the food is also delicious. They have a good variety of options here, with heavier meals such as their delicious protein pancakes, plus lighter options, everyone leaves happy. The power bowls and the avocado toast are my two favorite menu items.

The coffee bar is a must-try for those in need of a caffeine boost. Snooze is located on College Ave. and 6th St. in Downtown Tempe, just steps from ASU.

Located on Baseline Rd. and Mill Ave., this breakfast and lunch spot is known for delicious food and a cozy, welcoming environment. This place offers just about everything, but the variety of pancakes is amazing. Try a stack of banana pancakes, strawberry pancakes, wild Maine blueberry pancakes, whole wheat pancakes, apple cinnamon pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes or my personal favorite, the protein pancakes.
