IRONMAN 70.3 Arizona
October 22, 2023Event Summary
Set at the same venue as the wildly popular IRONMAN Arizona, IRONMAN 70.3 is the perfect tune-up for the full-distance race in November or just a great way to get out and compete in a half-distance event in a phenomenal setting.
IRONMAN 70.3 Arizona begins at Tempe Beach Park, just west of the Mill Avenue Bridge. The swim takes place in a calm, manmade lake with water temperatures in the mid 70s. The three-loop (each loop is 18.5 miles) bike course is relatively flat and winds through Tempe before offering some scenic vistas of the Sonoran desert. The two-loop run follows a 6.5-mile loop around Tempe Town Lake, with some great views of Arizona State University and the developing landscape of Tempe.
Just minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Tempe is a perfect race venue that’s easy to get to from anywhere in the world. As home to one of America’s largest universities, Tempe offers lots of sun and heat, which makes this a great recreational destination for triathletes and their families.
