So you’re looking for the best cookies in Tempe? Excellent, we’ve got you covered! National Cookie Day is December 4 (like we actually needed an excuse to eat cookies)… We won’t name names but someone on our team eats cookies weekly, if not daily. No judgement from us, of course. We’re all family. We love our cookies hot and fresh baked (daily) and these local Tempe bakeries are sharing the wealth with residents and visitors alike! Check out these hot spots and let us know what your favorite cookie flavor is in the comments below.

Two words for you. BIG. COOKIES. We’re not mad about it at all. These large and in charge cookies are delish and the perfect pairing with one of their hot lattes from the espresso bar. It’s also the perfect post-meal snack! Whether you’re dining in with great counter service or taking your grub to go, be sure to add one of the monstrosities to your order. #NoRegrets #AllTheCookies

South Tempe’s Red Apron Bakeshop is known for their beautiful custom cakes (just check out their Instagram page to see what they can do) but in our opinion, their cookies are some of our favorites. Their chocolate chip cookie is the closest thing to the famously huge cookies served at Disneyland. And, the lemon gooey butter cookie might be the one that sells out first every day. The light lemon flavor of their piece of cookie perfection is topped with what seems like a ½ pound of powdered sugar. Powdered donuts should try a little harder if they want to sway us.
A bonus for ASU Gammage ticket holders – Red Apron Bakeshop cookies are sold in the snack bar inside the theater. Save room. You’re welcome.

Unique cookies like their Kitchen Sink Cookie are the perfect combination of sweet and salty. It has chocolate chips, cornflakes, pretzels and marshmallows (which cause the cookie to spread like it does). Now, we can’t tell you all the measurements but you could try to make your own version of the Kitchen Sink Cookie. Just be sure to tag us @tempetourism and, of course, Chef Tracy will want to see the attempts too @tdoriginals!

At Chunk, they sell four packs of cookie awesomeness. How many is too many?! Quoting Cady Heron, “the limit does not exist.” Most importantly… they deliver. Known more famously for their $2 ice cream sandwiches, you’ve either discovered them or are now on your way there. We understand. The simple request from your counter service, ice cream sandwich builder is to pick out two cookies and your choice of ice cream scoop. Easy. Quick tip: for easier consumption, have your ice cream sandwich decomposed – aka your ice cream scoop with two cookies on the side. You can also buy just the cookies (even day young cookies for a bargain). Nice treat to hide in your bag on your way to class. Get your cookies delivered! YAY!

This cozy little cafe and bakery is just a few steps away from Mill Avenue, and well worth the venture off the beaten path. Their bakery case is filled each morning with fresh baked goodies, made in house daily. Now let’s talk cookies. The cookies are both giant and decadent – crispy on the outside and oh so gooey on the inside. It’s hard to just get breakfast or lunch at this spot without getting a cookie to go, so just order it while you’re already in line!

It doesn’t take much to convince us to go to Tempe Public Market Café at any time of day. Their food is killer and the atmosphere is comfortable and stylish all at the same time. And here, we never skip dessert. The cherry on the top of their creative menu is what’s inside the pastry case. Chef LT Smith is responsible for their baked items, which vary from muffins and seasonal breads to beautiful cakes. But our favorites here are the cookies. The Cinderella Cookie is perfectly sweet with a mix of cashews, dark chocolate and espresso. And, for the kiddos (or adults who want to feel like a kid again), order the Confetti Cookie, a delightfully cute sugar cookie with rainbow sprinkles.
Well that’s it from us! Where are your favorite places to grab a cookie in Tempe? We’re never opposed to trying even more places. Tell us in the comments below.
