Attractions

Whether you prefer the great outdoors, or you’re more the indoor type, Tempe has plenty of entertaining and action-packed attractions to keep you busy this spring.

  • Rent a pedal boat or paddle board at Tempe Town Lake, or rent a bike and cruise along the lake’s art-lined paths (note that due to dam construction, Tempe Town Lake will be closed from approximately February 10 through April 30, 2016).
  • Take a leisurely hike up Tempe’s iconic “A” Mountain or enjoy the views while hiking or biking along our extensive urban trail system.
  • Hike the scenic trails or take in some of the other attractions located in Papapgo Park such as the Phoenix Zoo and Desert Botanical Garden. Explore the Phoenix Zoo where you’ll find more than 1,000 animals and interactive exhibits.  The new Isle of the Tiger habitat includes two exhibit yards for the Zoo’s tigers, Jai and Suriya, and two viewing areas featuring Sumatran architecture. troll the lovely trails lined with thousands of cacti and other arid climate plants from around the globe, view art exhibitions, and listen to concerts under the stars at Desert Botanical Garden.
  • Dig in and get creative with the thousands of LEGO bricks in themed build and play areas in the Tempe’s newest attraction: LEGOLAND® Discovery Center, located across from SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium in Tempe’s Arizona Mills mall.  Other features include two LEGO rides, a 4D Cinema, massive, large-scale models, building areas and a Model Builder Academy.
