HIP HIP HOORAY!!! On March 3 and 4, 2017 at the Tempe Center for the Arts, Carnival of Illusion celebrates its 450th performance weekend of its blockbuster vaudeville-inspired illusion show. Carnival of Illusion starring dynamic husband/wife team, Roland Sarlot and Susan Eyed, is the longest running Arizona theater show in history. Oooh La La!
WHAT IS CARNIVAL OF ILLUSION? Hang onto your hat, grab your partner, and jump into an evening of old-world magic. Carnival of Illusion blends their “Around the world in 80 minutes” travel theme with all the charms of a Vaudeville-inspired road show. National Recipients for “Excellence in Magic,” Sarlot and Eyed have performed as house entertainers at the world’s top resorts, to Fortune 100 CEOs and to the 200 Most Powerful Women in America.
HEY FILM BUFFS… (and Tongue-Twister Fans) Here’s a tempting teaser at the tantalizing Tempe theater (say that ten times!) Turn up the volume and check out the “cinematic version” of Carnival of Illusion below: think sentimental nostalgia with a heart-wrenching musical score. This 60 second film combines both the grand and the intimate nature of the Tempe shows. Go full screen for the epic Steven Spielberg experience. Shhhhh, SPOILER ALERT!!! The performers and the AUDIENCE(!) share the stage at this magical theater.
AND THEY SAID IT COULDN’T BE DONE “In 2009, our goal was to create a show that was unique to Arizona, to attract locals as well as snowbirds and tourists,” says owner Roland Sarlot. Now in its 8th Season, Carnival of Illusion runs select Fridays and Saturdays. Susan Eyed, partner and one of the few female magicians in the world added, “What started out as sharing our passion for magic, evolved into eight successful seasons; it’s been a fun whirlwind of wonder!”
