Mr. Mesquite Taqueria

505 S. Mill Ave., Tempe, AZ 85281

Mr. Mesquite is known for being “the go to” during lunchtime. At least in our office anyways. As soon as you hit the door, you smell the smoky aroma from the mesquite grill and you know you have made the right decision. Their menu is short and simple, so you are able to get in and then get out. Choose from one of their four menu items; tacos, quesadillas, protein bowl or burritos.

*Taco Tuesday is obviously a hit among patrons, so plan extra time if you plan on going a Tuesday.

Pizza and Bruschetta at Sauce Pizza Tempe

Sauce Pizza & Wine

705 S. Myrtle Ave., Suite 101, Tempe, AZ 85281

Sauce is the new kid on the block, and it is quickly becoming the favorite among fast-casual Italian restaurants in Downtown Tempe. Sauce uses only farm-fresh ingredients to make some of the yummiest fast Italian food in the Valley! Choose from pastas, pizzas, salads and more.

Illegal Pete’s

25 S. Mill Ave., Tempe, AZ 85281

Hailing from Denver, Colorado, Illegal Pete’s has branched onto Mill Avenue bringing delicious burritos and plenty of draft beer. The fast counter service joint is a great option for a quick bite to eat; however, the live music, arts, and vibey atmosphere may convince you to stay for your entire meal.

The Chuckbox

202 E. University Dr., Tempe, AZ 85281

With over 35 years of making made to order hamburgers, I think the Chuckbox has this quick service thing nailed down. This (cash only) local legend, sticks to the basics with tasty mesquite grilled burgers and chicken sandwiches cooked over an open flame.

Original ChopShop

222 E. University Dr., Tempe, AZ 85281

Need something on the lighter side? The Original ChopShop is a no brainer for fast and friendly healthy dining.  Whether you’re in the mood for a quick protein shake or fresh juice, or you want a yummy sandwich or salad, the ChopShop has what you need to fuel up and keep it fresh.

*There is a potential for a lunch rush at this location. For even faster results, call ahead of time and pick up your food at the counter. No need to wait in line!
