Tempe Town Lake and Tempe Beach Park
Tempe Beach Park is home to many festivals and athletic events throughout the year. Tempe Beach Park is home to the Arizona Aloha Festival on March 11-12, 2017. Celebrate Asian culture and cheer for teams of paddlers during the races at the Arizona Dragon Boat Festival on March 25-26, 2017.
Walk the paths that encircle Tempe Town Lake, or get out on the water in a kayak, paddleboard, electric pontoon boat or pedal boat which you can rent from Tempe Boat Rentals at Tempe Town Lake.
This expansive desert preserve is home to playgrounds, a dog park, lagoons, picnic ramadas and hiking and biking trails. It is located just north of Tempe Town Lake.
The 125-acre Kiwanis Park, on Mill Ave. just south of Baseline Rd., features playgrounds, a lake, a batting range, an indoor recreation center, wave pool and a variety of fields for sports. Boat Rentals of America at Kiwanis Lake is now renting kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, pedal boats and bikes for rent.
Kids can swim for free this winter at Kiwanis Wave Pool at Kiwanis Park. From January 17-March 2, up to two children 10 years and under receive free admission to the pool with an adult’s $4 paid admission. This indoor pool features water slides, 3’ waves, raft and tube rental and snacks at the concession area. Kids will also love the large playground at Daley Park located on College Ave. and Encanto Dr. (just south of Apache Blvd.).
The Benedict Sports Complex includes five lighted soccer fields and hosts baseball, softball and soccer games.
Boat Rentals of America is now open at Kiwanis Lake. Single kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and pedal boats are available for rent and no experience is required. In addition, they rent bikes that are perfect for leisurely rides around Kiwanis Park.

Salt River Rafting provides whitewater trips through the scenic Salt River Canyon. Trips range from a half day to 4-Day adventures through the wilderness.
Open year-round and daily until 11:00 pm, the Splash Pad at Tempe Marketplace is the ideal family-friendly spot for children to splash, play and cool off outdoors.
