Arizona Mills

Downtown Tempe

Tempe Marketplace
Experience an interactive shopping, entertainment and dining experience in a vibrant, high energy outdoor setting. Shady walkways and a Splash Pad for the kids will cool you off during the day. Unique water features, live music on Friday and Saturday nights and light and laser elements set the mood after dark. And every Thursday evening in June and July from 6 to 7:30 p.m., take advantage of Summer Splash! Kids will get a chance to meet a favorite princess or superhero, including old favorites like Batman and Cinderella and new classics like Moana and Elsa. ASU Karsten Golf Course
Rated “4½ STARS” by Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play”, this par 70, Pete Dye Scottish links design boasts exceptional playing conditions year round. The Sun Angel Clubhouse is home to award-winning Trophy Room restaurant.

Big Surf Waterpark
Cool off from the summer heat at Big Surf Waterpark. Enjoy Waikiki Beach, America’s original wavepool with 2.5 million gallons of water, exciting rides and relaxing areas for toddlers.

Desert Botanical Garden
This living museum features 50,000 desert plants from around the world.  The Desert Botanical Garden is offering Garden Flashlight Tours where guests can observe how the desert comes to life when the sun goes down. Flashlight Tours are held from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday evenings from May 26 – September 1.

Families can play video games or laser tag in King Ben’s Castle, play miniature golf, ride bumper boats or cool off at Sunsplash waterpark.

Tempe Marketplace

Rent a Boat on Tempe Town Lake
Take a relaxing cruise on Tempe Town Lake! Choose between a variety of different boat types at Tempe Boat Rentals including kayaks, paddleboards, pedal boats and electric skiffs.

The Phoenix Zoo  
The Phoenix Zoo in Papago Park has been voted one of the nation’s top 5 zoos for kids. It features interactive exhibits such Monkey Village and at Harmony Farm and water play areas. The new exhibit, Isle of the Tiger includes two exhibit yards for the Zoo’s tigers, Jai and Suriya, and two viewing areas featuring Sumatran architecture. See the zoo at night at a Prowl & Play event or during their annual Fourth of Zoo-ly celebration July 4.

The Cloud Splash Playground at Kiwanis Park
Head to the newest splash pad in Tempe at Kiwanis Park. The one-of-a-kind structure boasts 5,000 square feet of water play, including loops, jelly sticks, misting sprays and pillars. The splash playground is open daily: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. beginning Saturday, June 16.

Tempe Public Pools

  • Kiwanis Park is the ultimate community park with a wave pool, splash playground, lake, walking paths, picnic ramadas, a playground and fields for sports. Ride the wave in the indoor Kiwanis wave pool, $5 for ages 2-12 and $7 for ages 13 and older.
  • Escalante Pool, open during the summer, features a six-lane lap pool, zero depth entry play pool with play equipment plus two slides. The pool is $0.75 for ages 6-17 and $1.25 for ages 18 and up and is open 7 days a week.
  • Tempe spray pads at Esquer, Hudson, and Jaycee neighborhood parks is open 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. and is free.


AMC Centerpoint 11
This is the perfect place to enjoy Downtown Tempe and catch a film at the same time.

AZ Heritage Center at Papago Park
The museum features interactive exhibits, guided tours and a research library focusing on contemporary Arizona history.

ASU Art Museum
Cited in “Art in America” as “the single most impressive venue for contemporary art in Arizona,” the ASU Art Museum explores art and its impact on individuals and society. This free contemporary art museum hosts a First Saturday for Families on the first Saturday of every month and Family Fun Day in July.

Broadway Shows at ASU Gammage
Take in a show this summer at the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed ASU Gammage. Shows include THE HUMANS, May 29-June 3 and SCHOOL OF ROCK, June 19-24, 2018.

Changing Hands Bookstore
Changing Hands Bookstore is one of the best independent bookstores around. It has a wonderful selection of children’s toys and books. Check their event calendar for story times and author events.

Dave & Busters

Hall of Flame Fire Museum
If your child dreams of being a firefighter, the Hall of Flame Fire Museum is the perfect stop. See fire trucks and equipment dating back to the 18th century.

Halle Heart Children’s Museum
The Halle Heart Children’s Museum educates children and adults on a variety of health-related topics including the benefits of exercise, eating healthy and the importance of not using tobacco products. These important teachings are reinforced through a series of fun, interactive exhibits.

Harkins IMAX
Located inside Arizona Mills, IMAX’s revolutionary projection technology delivers crystal-clear images and the most immersive 3D movie experience ever created.

Harkins Theatre – Valley Art
Built in 1940, the Harkins Valley Art is Arizona’s oldest and longest operating movie theatre, and showcases popular independent films.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Arizona
LEGOLAND® Discovery Center is where families with children aged 3 to 10 can enjoy a world of creativity, color and building fun in the ultimate indoor LEGO playground. Get hands-on with the thousands of LEGO bricks in themed build and play areas where kids’ imaginations can run wild with the endless possibilities that LEGO offers.

Main Event Entertainment

Phoenix Rock Gym

SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium

Tempe Center for the Arts
The Tempe Center for the Arts (TCA), located on the south bank of Tempe Town Lake, features a 600-seat theater, a 200-seat studio theater and a beautiful gallery space with rotating, themed exhibits. This summer, the gallery will be home to the exhibition titled draw and will offer free workshops to spark your creativity.

Tempe History Museum
The unique history of Tempe is dramatically staged through a variety of media and an interactive children’s gallery.

Tempe Paintball
Enjoy some adrenaline rushing and action-packed paintball in Arizona’s best paintball facility that features over 12,000 sq. ft. of air conditioned fun.

Tempe Public Library
The Tempe Public Library features a variety of events, book discussions, art exhibitions, writing clubs and storytelling sessions at the Youth Library.
